After Calling Off Their Engagement Last Year, Zoë Kravitz Spoke About Her Feelings Toward Channing Tatum
Zoë Kravitz spoke about her split from Channing Tatum for the first time.
The two were first linked in 2021 on the set of Blink Twice, Zoë's directorial debut starring the Magic Mike actor. They surprised many with the news that their engagement had been called off last October, shortly after the film's release. A source at the time said, "They haven’t been on the same page and grew apart."
In a new interview with Elle, Zoë was asked about the movie — especially as Channing went against his typecast and played a villain. She said, "For Chan specifically, it was about how exciting it would be to see him do something so different and so surprising, and something that I knew he was so capable of."
She was then asked whether or not the breakup had led her to view the movie differently in retrospect. "Not at all,” she replied. “I love this thing that we made together, and I care for him very much. Even when you bring up how great his performance is, it warms my heart to hear that, and I’m so happy that all of it happened. I just feel so grateful that we got to go on that journey together.”
"He has so much more coming, and I think he’s in a place as an actor where he’s feeling really confident and people are seeing different sides of him,” she added. “He’s got a lot to offer, so I’m excited for people to keep witnessing that.”
