Yvette Nicole Brown gets married for the first time at 53: 'It's never too late'

Yvette Nicole Brown is urging fans to never give up on finding love.

The "Community" star, 53, married actor Anthony Davis on Saturday, she confirmed to People magazine. The outlet published a series of exclusive photos from the ceremony, which took place in Los Angeles.

This is the first marriage for Brown and second for Davis. Speaking to People, the actress said her story proves that it's "never too late."

"I'm not someone who really likes a lot of attention, and I realized there's a way that I could have a wedding where I made it more about other people, in the sense that because I am of a certain age and I never thought it would happen for me, my wedding can be an inspirational moment," she told the outlet.

Brown also told People that she cried when she wore a wedding dress for an episode of the Nickelodeon show "Drake & Josh" because she thought, "This may be the only time I'm in a wedding dress." But "to realize that all these years later I was wrong and that I get to have my bridal moment as well, and my happy ending as well, it's amazing."

Brown confirmed her engagement to Davis on "The View" in 2023. She explained at the time that they have known each other since they were in their 20s and were in acting class together at church.

"He was married at the time," Brown said. "We were platonic friends, and then we lost touch for a few years, and then my mom passed two years ago, and he found me — after he divorced! Divorced first, and then he found me."

Speaking on "Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone" earlier this year, Brown said she is "of a certain age" where she had "stopped dreaming" of weddings, so she felt "clueless" while planning the ceremony.

"To be my age, to have been single as long as I was single, and to have waited — I didn't just grab a guy, I waited until I found the guy that my heart loves — that's a testimony, and it's also aspirational and inspiration to women that are in my position," she said.

"I would love for a 40-something or 50-something woman to see this story and go, 'OK, it's right for me to wait for the right one, or to not just marry whoever asks me first if I don't feel it, and it is still possible."
