'What is this?!': X-rated detail in Myer gift turns heads
A novelty gift option from retail chain Myer almost gave some customers whiplash this week, after a very naughty hidden detail had them doing a sharp double-take.
We all know the pain of trying to source a funny, light-hearted gift for a friend or colleague for a Kris Kringle under $20, but if you find yourself reaching for the store’s La La Land Wild Fur You merchandise in a hurry you may want to give it a second glance before you get it wrapped.
The line of tote bags, tea towels and small purses from the Aussie retailer uses a print of Native Australian animals in pairs set on an attractive olive green background.
While at a cursory glance the items seem wholesome, a closer look reveals the animals are in fact getting into the Christmas spirit in a very literal way, pictured humping and bumping with reckless abandon.
‘Naughty’ items raise eyebrows online
The naughty design left more than one shopper gobsmacked when an image of the coin purse was shared to a Facebook page ahead of Christmas shopping getting underway for the year.
“Not sure if Myer’s reviewed this before they released it,” the person who spotted the coin purse wrote alongside a screengrab of the $10 item.

It seems rather than be scandalised however, most shoppers were eager to get their hands on the cheeky item as a gift that very much sits on the naughty list.
“I want this for Xmas,” one wrote.
“I need this,” another agreed.
“Get the tea towel in this print for grandma and watch her reaction,” a very naughty shopper advised others.
An employee even weighed in, revealing the items were popular but had to be hidden in stores to avoid complaints.
“We’ve been stocking this for a few years now,” the worker wrote, describing the brand as ‘super popular’. “Usually hidden in amongst the La La Land display at Christmas time because customers complained.”
It seems some may have overlooked the detail, left with a rude shock indeed.
“I’ll have to take another look at mine,” one shopper wrote.
Others leaned in to the idea of presenting the items in a Christmas setting.
“KK present sorted,” one wrote. “You’ll never need to buy gifts again.”
Some were still unhappy about the design however, at least one onlooker voicing their disapproval.
“What in the **** is this?” the person wondered.
It’s not the first time shoppers have picked up on the very naughty details of the pattern, but it seems the very cheeky Christmas gift is still more than capable of giving shoppers a good giggle.
