Woman's baby names idea sparks hilarious responses online

Parents have shared what their babies' names would be if named after the place their parents met.

In an age where individuality is celebrated and babies are getting names like Apple and Blue Ivy, it's no surprise that people are turning to unique sources for baby name inspiration. However, one Australian baby name consultant, Michelle Casey, recently sparked hilarity online with a question about how to select a name based on the place you met your child's other parent.

Perhaps Casey was expecting names like Sydney, Austin or even Florence...but what if, using this strategy, your baby was instead named...Tinder?

The internet, as it often does, did not disappoint. Replies poured in, offering up a plethora of potential baby names, ranging from the absurd to the laugh-out-loud funny.

The hilarious results

Among the standout suggestions were 'Rehab', 'Delusion', 'Gas Station', and 'Church Parking Lot'. If you're looking to make a statement with your child's name, these would probably do the trick. And let's not overlook 'Bank of Ireland'; now that's a name you can count on!

But it didn't stop there.

Others said using this theory they would have little baby 'Frat House', (awwww how darling), 'Crab Shack' certainly had a ring to it, and other potential baby names were 'Coachella', 'Hinge' and 'Microsoft Teams'. Well, who wouldn't want a baby that comes with seamless virtual collaboration skills right from the start?

And while we're at it, how about a touch of fast food for your baby's name? 'McDonald's' featured a fair few times in the list, 'Pizza Hut' made an appearance, as did American restaurant chain Chick-Fil-A! Talk about giving a new meaning to the phrase "you are what you eat!"

The unexpectedly heartwarming

All hope wasn't lost, however. A couple of heartwarming stories did surface where the concept actually worked out.

"We did just that," one person commented, "Our two year old is named Olive. We met working at Olive Garden as teenagers." While someone else shared their daughter Julia was named after her parents meeting place, "Saint Julian's in Malta".

In the meantime, you'll have to excuse us, we need to go give little baby 'Snap Chat' a bottle.
