Woman stuns with 'brilliant' back to school hack: 'This is awesome'
The mum has been praised by parents and teachers alike for her clever textas idea.
As parents across the country rejoice that school holidays have finally ended, they’re now faced with one of the most tedious jobs - labeling all of their back-to-school supplies.
From lunch boxes to pencil cases, some items can be more annoying than others to label properly. But one of the most monotonous labeling jobs is school pencils and textas.
Thankfully, one mum has come up with a clever hack to not only label everything easily but keep everything together, too.
Taking to TikTok, a clever mum of four named Lauren shared her hack for keeping lids and textas together - while keeping labeling to a minimum - with her 1.3 million followers.
“Mum hacks for markers,” she announces in her short clip. “Are your kids always losing the lids to their markers? All you need to fix it is a roll of tape.”
Lining all the markers up alongside each other, she takes a large piece of duct tape and places it across the lids of the markers, securing them all together.

“I wrap it around about one and a half times, just to make sure that it’s secure,” she says.
“Kids can do all their art, and they can pop them right back into their little lid keeper, and they will never lose a lid again.”
The "lid keeper" can then be labeled with a child’s name once across the tape holding the pens together - genius!
Needless to say, dozens of mums thought her hack was “brilliant!”
“I love this!! So clever,” one person said.
“This is awesome. My son spreads all his markers all over the living room. This will keep them together,” another said.

Even teachers chimed in to give it their own classroom tick of approval.
“I’m a kinder teacher, and the lids are always lost. This is genius!” one said.
Other mums said the hack worked perfectly for at home arts and crafts too, as well as travelling and keeping track of textas between siblings.
“This is awesome. My son spreads all his markers all over the living room. This will keep them together,” another mum shared.
So far, those who had tried it said it worked well, with one mum saying they’ve had the same set of markers for eight months since taping all the lips together - deeming it a success.
But it seems some mums said it still wasn't totally foolproof. Despite the good idea, many mums said their kids would still be able to get past it and would likely lose them anyway.
“My kids would just lose the markers. Lmao,” one jokingly commented. Another agreed, saying, “Plot twist, they start losing the markers.”
Either way, it’s an inexpensive solution that’s definitely worth a try!
