Big W launches huge back to school sale with prices starting at 25 cents

The retailer has kicked off it's back to school sale as the new school year looms.

As a new school year approaches, it’s time for parents to stock up on back-to-school supplies and with savings across all the essentials, Big W is proving to be a one-stop-shop.

The budget Aussie retailer has just launched their huge back-to-school sale, ready to kick off a fresh school year. The latest deals cover primary and high school students, with half-price or better discounts across select brands, including Crayola, BIC, Faber-Castell, Elmers, Smash, Decor, and UHU.

Also on offer are $100 savings across Apple iPads, school uniform basics reduced to $2.50, stationary starting at 25 cents and affordable lunchbox and backpack sets.

One of the store’s newest additions this year is a functional 5-piece lunch box - the Brilliant Basics lunch box pack, available for $8. Another great bulk buy is the Brilliant Basics 5-pack of Turnover School Socks for $5.

Parents welcome bargain buys from Big W

The budget-friendly buys across the store are certainly welcomed by parents, including savvy mum, Candice Tanna.

“As a family of four, we are always looking for ways to keep costs down, especially as 2024 will be our first year having to buy school items for all children with our youngest starting prep,” she says.

Apart from seeking out the best deals, she says the key is to get in early and buy in bulk where you can to save more.

“Start shopping as soon as possible, even if it’s just buying a few items here and there in the lead-up to school returning. This will help you spread the cost over multiple weeks.”

Parents can take full advantage of the savings from now until January 31, with Big W’s Commercial Director Amanda Lunn highlighting that the aim of the widespread discounts was to provide affordable, quality products to all families.

“Back to School is an exciting time for many families, but we are conscious that it can also be a time that puts pressure on family budgets,” she says.

“We have a responsibility to ensure Australian families have access to affordable quality products, and that’s why this year we’ve worked hard to bring the price of our most popular items down by up to 50%. We’re confident that Big W will lead the way for quality and low-price school supplies.”
