Woman Says She’s Married to Her 'Soulmate' – and Now Her Mom's Getting His First Initial Tattooed on Her Wrist
In a recent “Am I Overreacting” post on Reddit, a woman said she couldn't help but question her mom's latest tattoo decision
Even though she has no doubts about her husband, one woman said she can't help but think it's a little weird that her mother decided to get his first initial inked on her wrist.
In a recent “Am I Overreacting” post on Reddit, a 26-year-old woman said she has been with her husband, 29, for 5 years now and has no reason to doubt that he's her person. But, that didn't stop her from questioning her mom's latest tattoo decision.
The woman said that her mother "just got a tattoo" that featured her and her brother's initials — and she already wants another one. "This time she’s getting three hearts on her wrist, with the first initial in my husband, my brother, and [my] name," the woman wrote.
However, the woman said that "when I commented on how it was very sweet of her to get my husband’s initial, but it was a little odd, she went on a speech about how he is her son now too and she loves him like a son and she knows he’s my soulmate and that we will never split up."
And while the woman said she doesn’t think they will either, she couldn't help how she felt about the situation.
“I’m also just a pragmatist in the sense that anything can happen, even if the chance is insanely slim,” she added.

Commenters on the thread were split regarding what to think about the ink.
“It is a little weird but I think she's just trying to be sweet and include him as a child, that’s really nice,” wrote one user, while another agreed, writing, “It's weird but actually kinda sweet that she considers him a son."
Meanwhile, others felt like the woman was actually overreacting.
"Your mom considers him as a son, which is indicative of a great MIL/SIL bond,” read one reply. “Worst case scenario - if y'all split up, she can have that part of her tattoo removed or modified.

And if all else fails, tattoos can always be modified, another optimistic commenter replied.
“You hope for the best but if things go sideways, tattoos can always be touched up to look like something [else]," the commenter wrote. "Just be happy you found your lobster and your mom loves him like a son. I think the that is a really sweet gesture.”
