Woman’s Friend Called to Tell Her She Wasn’t Invited to Wedding, Then Texted Her Pictures from the Ceremony
The woman thought her friend was going to ask her to be a bridesmaid when she learned she wasn't invited to the wedding
One woman went from thinking she was going to be a bridesmaid in her friend’s wedding, to not being invited at all. In a new Reddit post on Thursday, Jan. 2, a woman called out the bride, 30, who once referred to her as a “best friend.”
The original poster explained that after her friend got engaged their friendship took a turn and the woman began sending her "increasingly nasty texts out of the blue.”
The tense exchanges left the Redditor “anxious” every time she received a text. Despite her concerns, the poster was excited when she got a request from the bride to talk on the phone.
“I ASSUMED at this point that she was going to ask me to be a bridesmaid so I was excited for this phone call,” the poster wrote.
She shared that the bride was actually calling to tell her that they had decided to have two separate dates for their wedding — one for the ceremony and one for the reception.
“She’s not clear on if I’m invited to the wedding or not and since it’s in two months, I awkwardly ask if I’m invited,” the Redditor shares, noting that the bride told her she would only having two friends in attendance.
The poster says that the bride told her, “I thought about having you but you live farther away,” despite the fact that she lives an hour and a half away. The bride assured her that she was invited to the reception.

“Two months later, they get married and she sends me a TEXT with pictures from the wedding I wasn’t invited to saying how she finally made an honest man out of her new husband,” the Redditor said of the bride. “At this point I basically just stopped initiating any communication with her except to respond to her.”
As for the reception, the poster says she never received an invitation, adding that she has, “No idea if it even happened or not.”
