Aussie TV star looks unrecognisable in adorable throwback snap

She’s loved by children all over Australia and now Emma Watkins has shared an adorable throwback snap from her own childhood.

Holding up a fairy wand and dressed in a tiara, fairy wings and a pink tutu, Emma looks like she was always destined to be an entertainer in the cute photo, which was taken in 1996, when she was just seven-years-old.

“Saturday Sparkle. This is clearly how an Autumn Fairy may dress.... I wanted to make sure my costume was practical for the cooler weather. ‘Fairy with a jumper’ xx,” Emma captioned the snap.

Emma now of course gets to wear a tutu to work everyday, for her role as Yellow Wiggle on The Wiggles.

She’s also captured attention over the past few years for her marriage and split from her co-star Lachlan Gillespie.

The pair married in 2016 in a lavish wedding at Hopewood House in Bowral, with Emma looking stunning in a long-sleeved gown by Suzanne Harward.

However, just two years later, in August 2018, they announced they were parting ways, with fans left in shock over the news.

In October 2019, Lachlan went public with his new love, Dana Stephensen, and the pair became engaged in April.

“On Thursday night, Dana asked me to marry her at home under a fairy light sky and a very excited little boy in a beautiful bow tie,” Lachy wrote on Instagram.

Dana also took to her Instagram account to gush over Lachy, saying he had actually proposed first but she wanted to ask him the ‘special question’ with her son by her side.

Despite their ups and downs, Emma and Lachlan have remained amicable, with Emma telling Stellar magazine in December last year that she predicted her ex-husband and Dana would be the perfect match.

"Dana and Lachy have a similar energy, and I said to a friend that they would be perfect together," she said.

"But she was in a relationship, so I didn't say anything to him."

Emma is now dating musician Oliver Brian, who tours with The Wiggles and also played guitar during her wedding reception when she married Lachy.

"Yes, I'm in love and I feel very excited to tell you... He's very opposite to me,” Emma told Stellar magazine.

“He's a very calm and thoughtful person and I've always been interested in his mind and his take on life, and his morals. He loves talking about the environment and food production. It's not very 'Wiggly', but it's been nice for me to talk about things not just concerning ourselves, but people everywhere around the world."
