Why Selena Gomez Can't Stop Sharing Her and Benny Blanco's Relationship Online

The actress has famously had reservations with using social media.

Selena Gomez has shared her hesitation to share the more intimate parts of her life on social media on more than one occasion, but when it comes to her relationship with Benny Blanco, she doesn't seem to mind. In fact, the Rare Beauty founder feels so comfortable with Blanco that it makes her feel at ease with going on social media to share the highlights of their relationship.

"I guess this is the safest I’ve ever felt in one, and I see a future with this person. And when you put a little bit out there, people are not as hungry to hunt you down," Gomez said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "Like, if they hear something, they’re going to, but if you’re like, “I did it,” they’re like, “Oh, well there’s you, just going to Sushi Park.” But there’s so much of my relationship people don’t see, that’s just mine."

That's not to say that the former Disney Channel star is always in a giving mood to the paparazzi—"I just try to not give them good ones sometimes; but other times, it’s part of the job and you just have to deal with it," she added.

This isn't the first time that Gomez has said she feels "safe" in her relationship with Blanco. In a February interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1's New Music Daily, explained that her relationship with Blanco is the "safest" she has ever felt with a partner.

“Without getting into too much detail, I think it's just really important to meet someone that respects you,” she explained. “And I think it's really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. But I'd have to say overall it's the safest that I feel and it's been really lovely and I've only grown through it, so it's awesome.”

By September, Gomez graced the cover of Vanity Fair  and talked about how amazing things are with Blanco amidst rumors of a possible engagement for the couple. "I’ve never been loved this way,” she said of her and Blanco's relationship. “He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”

Blanco appears to be on the same page with Gomez, too. "When I look at her, I do say, 'I don't know a world where it could be better than this,'" he said during his may Howard Stern appearance, hinting that marriage and kids may be on the horizon for them: "That's like my next goal on the box," he said. "I have a lot of God kids, I've got a ton of nephews. It's my thing, I love being around kids!'"
