Why Law & Order star Christopher Meloni's butt has gone viral
Christopher Meloni is best known for his role as Detective Elliot Stabler on Law & Order but he was at risk of being upstaged by his very own bottom while filming on location in New York City recently.
The 60-year-old star was shooting his new spin-off series, Law & Order: Organised Crime when a fan snapped a sneaky pic of him chatting with co-star Danielle Moné Truitt.
No butts about it
According to journalist Peter Hess who posted the snap on Twitter, it was initially shared in a 'neighbourhood' Facebook group for local residents.
"SVU is filming in park slope this week and someone in the neighborhood facebook group posted this photo of chris meloni," Peter tweeted.
The photo, which shows Christopher from the side with his back turned slightly to the camera, has since gone viral and it only takes a quick glance to figure out why.
The man's derrière is looking, ahem... very plump.
Meloni and his rounded booty sent fans into a spin, with many tweeting funny observations and puns.
"How do you think they make that donk-donk sound in each episode," joked one.

"Pack it up, internet. We did good work today," added another.
"Law and Order: Ass V-iew," wrote a third.
One Twitter user suggested that Christopher's stance might contribute to his eye-catching glutes.
"Even allowing that he might be elevating/stretching the right leg, god damn," they wrote.
'Best Ass on Primetime'
The man himself has addressed the hubbub surrounding his bum, responding to a fan who asked, "you wanna explain why you have so much cake???"
Cake, we are led to believe, is slang for 'buttocks'.
"Sure," Christopher tweeted in reply. "Big birthday(60), big boy(200 lbs), big cake."
It's not the first time Christopher's butt has made headlines. In 2014, his 'TV wife,' Surviving Jack co-star Rachael Harris declared his 'the best male butt she had ever seen' in an interview with Conan O'Brien.
Christopher ran with the compliment and adopted the self-styled title, 'Best Ass on Primetime' much to the delight of his fans.
His rear was a hot topic in 2019 when he read some 'thirst tweets' in a video for Buzzfeed.
