Why Jackie O will no longer respond to Ozempic weight loss rumours
The radio host copped backlash last week after sharing photos from her holiday in Bali.
After ringing in the New Year with Carrie Bickmore and a group of friends in Bali, radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson shared a gallery of snaps of the group enjoying a night out on Instagram last week.
However, rather than receiving praise for her impressive transformation after gradually losing weight throughout 2023 by overhauling her entire lifestyle, the 48-year-old faced a surprising amount of backlash from her followers.
The post attracted over 400 comments with many people accusing Jackie of taking Ozempic, an appetite suppressant drug intended for adults with type 2 diabetes that many celebrities take to stay slim.
“Wow Ozempic is a miracle,” one person wrote, while another added, “I love Jackie but she has to be taking Ozempic!”.
“You look amazing Jackie and you look happy. But I’d really wish you would share how you lost so much so quickly to help others that are overweight have health issues and unhappy in themselves,” someone else replied.

Rather than address the comments, Jackie announced in November that she would no longer reply to these accusations after spending all of 2023 repeatedly shutting them down with no success.
“When the Ozempic rumours first came out, I was like, ‘Oh, are you joking?’. I know how hard I've worked and I haven't taken that,” she said on the Something To Talk About podcast.
“I was frustrated when those were coming out and I found the more I was defending myself, the more I felt, OK, this is a losing battle because the people who believe I have, or was taking Ozempic, you’re never going to change their mind. Because I think they want to believe it.
“I know I didn’t take any short cuts. It’s just not what I did. I can’t really deny it any more than I have.”
Roxy Jacenko's Ozempic overdose
Jackie’s comments come shortly after fellow Australian media personality Roxy Jacenko revealed she suffered from a terrifying overdose scare when she injected too much Ozempic in a desperate bid to lose weight.
The former Sweaty Betty owner and PR influencer took one milligram of Ozempic, which is four times the amount prescribed by a doctor, and thought she was “going to die”.
“I have had cancer, radiation therapy, all of that. It doesn't even compare to how bad I felt when I took this drug,” she told The Saturday Telegraph.
Roxy said she suffered from severe vomiting and non-stop shaking, resulting in her staying in a drug overdose clinic for three days. She explained that she took the drug in an effort to lose the weight she had gained from taking a hormone therapy used to treat breast cancer.
