During the Dec. 10 episode of the talk show, Goldberg brought up a new article in The Atlantic about how some women aren’t “even looking for dates any more because they’ve lost hope finding a suitable partner.”

“Romance, apparently, is dead!” she declared, before stating that men who aren’t successful in love may need to reassess their perspectives. “Perhaps it’s not that romance is dead, perhaps you’re looking for things that are not in your lane.”

The conversation then shifted towards the percentage of single people that are looking for love. Co-host Sunny Hostin revealed that, according to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, a whopping 61 percent of men are actively looking for love, while 38 percent of single women are not interested in romantic relationships at all.

The panelists began to discuss the merits of looking for love with someone who is compatible versus someone who exhibits certain traits, from being good-looking to being wealthy.

“It just occurs to me that everybody wants everything like this,” said Goldberg, snapping her fingers. “Maybe you’ve got to take time to get to know somebody.”

The Sister Act star then admitted that she likes “a hit and run because I am not interested in a committed relationship.” Co-host Sara Haines quipped that “guys will love that,” prompting Goldberg to say “they do,” as the audience and panel applauded.

“But one of the things that makes me so sad is that people, they don’t know how to meet each other. They don’t know how to go out and just have a good time. Forget how much money you’re making, we’re here at the bar, let’s eat some chips, let’s eat one of these nasty potatoes and see what’s going on,” Goldberg said.
