Whoopi Goldberg Issues Stern Response to Joe Rogan’s ‘Fake News’ Political Claim
Whoopi Goldberg completely shut down the recent false claims made by podcast host Joe Rogan during his podcast with guest Donald Trump, with the TV host bringing video evidence to back herself up.
On the new episode of The View on Monday, Oct. 28, Goldberg took a moment to address Rogan's claims about how Trump was treated during his appearance on the show, fact-checking his statements. Goldberg began by saying, "There's a lot of 'fake news' coming up, so we're gonna clear some of it up as it happens."

She first clarified that the episode was in 2011, while Rogan claimed it occurred in 2015 or 2016, during Trump's run for president. Rogan also claimed that Trump had a warm welcome with earnest hugs, being introduced as "our friend."
Instead, a clip from the episode showed Barbara Walters introducing Trump as "my friend," with Goldberg wearing quite a stern expression on her face, which got Monday's audience laughing.
“So, Barbara was her usual polite self as she was with every guest. But did I look warm and fuzzy?" Goldberg explained. "But because I respect Barbara, she said be polite to guests no matter what. And for the most part, I got through it. I did it, like I do now.”
Then the biggest issue with Rogan's claims came when he said that The View hosts portrayed Trump “in such a favorable light” in 2011. Goldberg said, “Honey, Joe. I think you missed this part,” before revealing a clip in which she called out Trump's request that then-president Barack Obama release his birth certificate.
She sternly told him, “I think that’s the biggest pile of dog mess I’ve heard in ages...It’s not because he’s Black? Because I’ve never heard of any white president being asked to show a birth certificate. That’s B.S.” The other 2011 hosts shared similar sentiments at the time.
Goldberg ended the conversation by noting that The View often has on guests that the hosts might not agree with, but that's part of its concept. She then left time for co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin to clear up some different rumors Trump said about her.
Goldberg and the rest of The View hosts have called out Trump many times in the past, and as Farah Griffin said in the latest episode, "We're gonna keep doing it."
