Michelle Bridges: My life as a mum

Stepping out with her partner, Steve “Commando” Willis and their newborn, Axel, on a sunny day in Melbourne last weekend, Michelle Bridges looked stylish and glowing with happiness. Since welcoming Axel nine weeks ago, the perennially busy fitness mogul has been revelling in motherhood, even if it means she’s sometimes in her pjs “until midday,” she has said. “I am loving being a mother,” Bridges, 45, tells WHO. “Axel is a dream. He only cries when he is hungry and is very easygoing.”

Having Axel has softened The Biggest Loser trainer, who is easing back into exercise with power-walking, interval-training and gym work. “I put him on the ground and do my push-ups,” she has said. Outside the gym, Bridges and Willis enjoy family outings with Axel and Willis’s children from previous relationships—Brianna, 17, Ella, 8, and Jack, 4. “Brianna’s proved she has a knack for getting Axel off to sleep,” says Willis’s rep Lisa Sullivan.

Sleep is at a premium in Bridges’s life at the moment, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. “It is just like everybody tells you, it is exhausting,” the new mum tells WHO. “But it is a happy tired.”
