The Project’s Carrie Bickmore is a second-time mum, with the popular co-host and partner of two years, Chris Walker, celebrating the arrival of a baby girl.

“Welcome to this crazy world little Evie,” Bickmore tweeted on March 18. “So happy you arrived safely.”

Bickmore, 34, is mother to seven-year-old Oliver, from her five-year marriage to husband Greg Lange, who passed away from brain cancer in 2010.

In February, Bickmore showcased her 8-month baby bump in a pregnancy shoot with the Australian Women’s Weekly, saying she was “so excited” about her impending arrival, but also “slightly terrified,” she revealed. “I think when you have done it once before, when you do it again, you know what you are in for.”

The star opened up on the tough time she experienced following Oliver’s birth. “I had a haemorrhage about 10 days after I had him. I think I still have anxiety about that hanging over my head,” said Bickmore, who also spoke candidly about a later miscarriage.

The Logie winner has credited Walker, a former producer on The Project, with helping her rebuild her life following Lange’s tragic death. The couple has been dating for over two years.

"It was hard at first working together, I think,” she told the Weekly. “Anyone who works with a partner will tell you that's a fun dynamic, but he's left now and our conversations at night aren't so focused on The Project. We can talk about other things in the world.”

Said Network Ten in a statement this evening, "Carrie’s son Ollie is wrapped to have a little sister. Both Carrie and Evie are doing well."
