Bruce Jenner To Transition From Male To Female On TV

Bruce Jenner is reportedly taking steps to disclose what multiple sources say is his "wish to transition from male to female," with plans to document his journey in a reality show to be announced in the coming weeks.

According to US Weekly, Jenner's decision does not come as a a surprise. In fact, when Jenner met ex-wife Kris on a blind date in 1990, he was already taking steps to live as a woman. He had allegedly already consulted with doctors, but Us says, according to a family source, Kris "talked Bruce out of acting on his feelings."

"Kris caught Bruce putting on her clothes," a friend tells Us. "But she thought she could change him. She thought it was a phase he was going through for attention. ... They had massive arguments about it. He feels a lot of anger and animosity toward Kris for suppressing his feminine side."

So, why now? In the wake of cruel stories, most recently InTouch’s Jan. 26 cover that superimposed Jenner’s face onto the body of Dynasty actress Stephanie Beacham, a source tells Us, “He feels like he doesn’t have anything to lose.”

As for how his family feels about his decision, those closest to him are "mostly supportive."

"I think Bruce is very happy, the happiest I've ever seen him...He's our dad so we support him no matter what, and I think when the time is right, he'll talk about whatever he wants to talk about," step-daughter Kim Kardashian revealed in an interview on January 28. "I feel like that's his journey to talk about."

Kardashian says Jenner, 65, will speak out about his "journey" when the "time is right": "We support Bruce'. Of course we support Bruce 100 percent," she added to Entertainment Tonight.

Media speculation that the 65-year-old former Olympian may be transgender has been fueled by reports that he allegedly underwent surgery to flatten his Adam's apple, as well photos of him with long hair and nail polish. Most recently, Jenner stepped out in LA with noticeably fuller lips on January 27.
