Jimmy Fallon, Rob Lowe, Jimmy KimmelWhat late-night talk show is Rob Lowe on again?
That’s the question the 9-1-1: Lone Star actor likely asked himself after he accidentally referred to Jimmy Kimmel as “Jimmy Fallon” during a Thursday visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live. The awkward incident arose while Lowe, 60, and the host, 57, had a hilarious back-and-forth over which team he’d be supporting at the Super Bowl this weekend.
“I am a partisan man, Jimmy Fallon! I am bringing this country together,” Lowe stressed, prompting Kimmel to bluntly respond, “Did you just call me Jimmy Fallon?”

A thoroughly stunned Lowe put his hand to his mouth and offered no additional comment. “You can’t even pick a Jimmy!” Kimmel declared, causing an embarrassed Lowe to laugh and attempt to high-five him. “No, I’m not high-fiving you! Put that hand down!”
Lowe then collapsed into the back of his chair, covering his face with his hand, and continuing to giggle over his late-night mix-up. He added, “Oh my God, help us both.”
Kimmel however, happened to have the perfect gift for this exact moment. He then handed Lowe a hat with the words “talk show” stitched onto it so that Lowe could wear it to whatever program he saw fit in the future.
“It’s amazing,” Lowe said as he showed it off to the audience. “Thank you. That is really good because I like both Jimmys!”
A laughing Kimmel replied, “And both Jimmys like you.”

This isn’t Lowe’s first case of mistaken identity. While visiting Jimmy Kimmel Live last year, he revealed that he accidentally texted Bradley Cooper his congratulations for winning big at the Golden Globes when he meant to text Robert Downey Jr.
“Downey does this amazing acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, and I’m so excited for him so I text him, ‘So glad you won. That is the most beautiful acceptance speech I’ve heard in a long time. Boy, do you deserve it,’” he recalled. “I hit it and I realize, ‘Oh s---. I just sent that to Bradley Cooper.’”
To make matters worse, Cooper had lost his category that evening — and Lowe's attempts to remedy his error weren't helping, either. “I said, ‘No, no, I meant that for Robert Downey Jr.,’” Lowe said. “Now that’s even worse! I made the guy feel worse! It was terrible.”
