Let’s set the scene here: Alex and his gorgeous girlfriend Karlie Jayne Porter have known each other since Year Three.

Seven months ago, things turned romantical. And like any man who knows he’s onto a winner, Alex wanted to do something incredibly special on the day he asked Karlie to be his wife.

His solution? An epic scavenger hunt involving friends, family and places around the Sunshine Coast that held special meaning for them.

“At each spot a new friend or family member was waiting to hand her a note on where to go to next,” Alex told the Sunshine Coast Daily.

Alex even organised an army of cameras, Go-Pros and drones to capture every single minute, and after an entire day of suspense, Karlie was led to a houseboat where Alex waited with a bunch of flowers, a guitar, and a 10 minute video revealing how he felt.

"I had filmed myself driving to her parents house weeks earlier asking if I could marry her and when I got back in the car and they had said 'yes',” he told the publication.

"I filmed picking up the ring and all the behind scenes footage and fun clips highlighting our seven months together.

"Then she turned around and I sang her a personal song while trying to hold the tears back.”

No surprises here, but Karlie’s answer was a most definite “yes”.
