Warner Bros. Television is promoting from within.

The company has also promoted casting chief Mele Nagler.

It is a new role for both Collins White and Warner Bros. TV. She will continue to oversee scripted program development — including dramas, comedies and limited series – but will now oversee casting, led by Nagler, and Audience & Content Research and Insights, headed by Jeanne Cotton. Adrienne Turner will continue to lead comedy development and Parul Agrawal will continue to run drama development, both reporting to Collins White.

Current programming, led by Vicki Dummer, will be overseen by Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO, Warner Bros. Television Group and WBD US Networks.

Collins White was named to her current post in 2020, after joining WBTV as VP, Current Programming in 2004, working on Jerry Bruckheimer series such as Cold Case and Without a Trace.

Nagler is now EVP and head of casting, where she supervises the casting of on-screen performers for all live-action scripted projects produced by the studio. She now reports to Collins White. Nagler was promoted to head of casting in January 2022.

It comes after four series that the pair worked on were renewed for second seasons. This includes Max’s The Pitt, Netflix’s basketball comedy Running Point, which is exec produced by Mindy Kaling and stars Kate Hudson, CBS’ Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and Apple comedy drama Bad Monkey starring Vince Vaughn and exec produced by Bill Lawrence.

The development team also scored a series order last month for Not Suitable for Work at Hulu, also from Kaling, who recently renewed her overall deal at the studio.

Channing Dungey said, “Clancy has been an essential part of Warner Bros. Television’s success for more than two decades, and I am thrilled that she will now take on an even more prominent leadership role. Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do, and Clancy’s taste, collaborative spirit, passion for making great television, and dedication to our artistic partners make her the ideal creative leader for our future. Mele has played an invaluable part in putting together stellar casts for our highest-profile current series. I’m delighted to recognize her outstanding work with this most-deserved promotion.”

Clancy Collins White added, “Warner Bros Television has been my home for more than 20 years, and I am incredibly honored by this opportunity and excited to take on this new role. I want to extend my deepest thanks to Channing for her mentorship and unwavering support. I look forward to continuing our work together alongside our amazingly talented teams and the best storytellers in the business.”

Mele Nagler said, “I am elated to continue calling Warner Bros Television my professional home. To work alongside the best executives in the business as we support our industry’s most talented creatives is a true honor. I cannot thank Channing and Clancy enough for their belief in me. I look forward to our continued collaboration.”
