'The Voice': Reba McEntire passes the torch to new judge Kelsea Ballerini with sweet letter

Kelsea Ballerini has a new souvenir from Reba McEntire to add to her "Baggage."

The "Patterns" singer has been named the newest coach of "The Voice" and McEntire left her a sweet message as they trade places as the signature country star on the NBC reality competition's judging panel, according to People magazine.

"Dear Kelsea, I heard you would be the new coach this season and I'm just so excited for you. It's up to you to keep country alive on the show and I know you'll do a terrific job," the letter from McEntire said.

"Now go out there and show those boys who's the boss," the note continued, referring to Ballerini's fellow judges John Legend, Adam Levine and Michael Bublé.

McEntire also left Ballerini a "little good luck charm in case you need it," a crown that belonged to "Queen Reba" from previous seasons.

On Instagram Monday, Ballerini shared her excitement over joining the judges' panel on "The Voice."

"joining @nbcthevoice as the new coach tonight. i’ve gained three brothers, been continually inspired by the talent this season, and enjoyed every second of this journey so far. tune in at 8/7c TO WATCH ME HIT THE RED BUTTON FOR MY FAV ARTISTS!!!!" the country singer captioned the post.

The show's 27th season features the return of OG coach Adam Levine. The Maroon 5 frontman left the show in 2019 after a 16-season run and three wins.

Ballerini has had a big year with the success of "Patterns," released last October, and the awards circuit.

Most recently, Ballerini attended the 67th Grammy Awards with boyfriend Chase Stokes and "Cowboy Cry Too" collaborator Noah Kahan. The country music superstar wore a textured Tamara Ralph minidress paired with a satiny, billowing jacket.

Ballerini was nominated for best country duo/group performance for "Cowboys Cry Too," but lost the award to Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus for their hit "Cowboy Carter" song "II Most Wanted."

"The Voice" airs Mondays at 7 p.m. central time on NBC.
