The Viral Pecan Pie Dip That *Has* to Be On Your Thanksgiving Menu This Year
Social media never disappoints when it comes to dishing out easy, inventive twists on favorites. Well, sometimes it disappoints, but we keep coming back anyway because sometimes you'll find gems like Lasagna Soup, Sheet Pan Pancakes, Oreo Mug Cake, Sushi Bake or Fish Stick Tacos. And there are always new viral recipes waiting to be discovered.
And one thing social media never tires of is turning our favorite foods into dips. Last winter it was Hot Cocoa Dip and now, just in time for Thanksgiving, we’ve discovered Pecan Pie Dip.
Viral content creator Kayla, who goes by @__kaylabee_ on Instagram and @juicy.lipz91 on TikTok, posted a video of her pecan pie dip that has racked up almost 6 million views across both platforms. She starts off by saying “I said I was making this pecan pie dip for my kids to come and try… they're not even home yet and I ate almost half because I can’t stop eating it, it’s just that good.” She promises that the dip is "pecan pie with half the work." Um, sold!

What Is the Viral Pecan Pie Dip?
This recipe is a quick and easy way to satisfy your craving for pecan pie, without the hassle of making and rolling out crust or any baking. Kayla makes a no-bake cheesecake (sans the crust), then pours a layer of gooey pecan pie filling on top. She serves the dip with graham crackers (in a nod to the classic cheesecake crust) and apple slices, but mentions that cookie or pretzels would also make great dipping options.
“omg i love cheesecake AND pecans!! match made in heaven!!” wrote one commenter.
“I just tried it and girl 👌🏽,” said another.
“Ima try this with some Biscoff cookies,” said one commenter. “You’re gonna think I’m insane but try it with wheat thins and it tastes like your pie crust!” wrote another. We love both ideas!

How to Make the Viral Pecan Pie Dip
This is a super easy dish to put together, which is just what busy cooks need right now. You start by making the pecan pie topping, which is just a mix of brown sugar, butter, pecans, an egg and some vanilla and salt. Cook that until it thickens, then set it aside while you make the cheesecake filling, which is a mix of Cool Whip, softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Spread the cheesecake mixture in a pie plate, pour on the pecan pie topping, and serve with your favorite dippers.
Whether you make it for Turkey Day, game day or any holiday gathering (or all three!), it’s sure to be a hit.
