The View got off to a spicy start on Wednesday morning, after two cohosts shut down conservative panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin's multiple interruptions during a heated discussion live on the air.

In the aftermath of moderator Whoopi Goldberg grappling with pesky pens that fell out of her pocket during the talk show's latest broadcast, the Hot Topics chat focused on issues of immigration amid Donald Trump's proposal of a potential $5 million card that would gain purchasers access to the United States.

Legal expert Sunny Hostin called the card the "most expensive golden visa," before she turned her focus on Trump's administration "not really going into Canada and looking for those Canadian people that are kind of jumping back and forth" over the northern border, she said.

"This is a misnomer, it's not Canadians that come across the northern border," Griffin said, pointing out that it's actually "people from other parts of the world" while interrupting Hostin several times as she attempted to speak.

Hostin tried to continue, adding that she "spoke to [Michigan's] Governor Whitmer about" the issue, as Griffin kept pressing her words into Hostin's.

"Can I just finish what I was saying so that I don't lose my thought?" Hostin pleaded, attempting to speak again in the wake of another interruption from Griffin.

Eventually, an exasperated Hostin put her hands out and said, "Can I finish talking?" which silenced Griffin in the moment.

"Hold on a second, just let me finish now, this time," Goldberg said.

"One of the joys of this gig is that there's never enough time to get everything said, because we only have 37 minutes to really get everything out and guests and all kind of stuff," she said, eventually waving her arms in the air to comically reference the argument that took place moments prior. "[It happens] because people are feeling passionate and want to talk. Because we're not just a political show, we talk about lots of different stuff, we're always trying to jockey about what we're trying to talk about."

Griffin added, "I know it gets heated, and I don't mean to step on people when I do. I'm working on interrupting."
