Video of woman's bikini act on public beach sparks outrage: 'Let yoga gal live'
A platform dedicated to calling out influencers has found itself in the spotlight instead.
A scene captured on a public beach has stirred up a commotion online, but not for the reasons you might expect. The uproar involves popular Instagram page @influencersinthewild, notorious for posting behind-the-scenes antics of influencers filming themselves in everyday settings. This time, however, the tables turned, and the focus shifted from the so-called influencer, to the very page that initially intended the call-out.
Accompanied by the caption "wooooooooooow," the account posted footage of a woman performing an advanced yoga manoeuvre on the shoreline of a public beach. With impressive balance, the woman slowly extends her legs before holding the challenging yoga pose called Sirsasana. Notably, there's no clear sign of her capturing the moment on camera.
The page's followers quickly reacted, asking why they were sharing a video of someone peacefully doing yoga on the beach. Many criticised the move, arguing that a page originally meant to expose influencers filming themselves should refrain from mocking people who are simply minding their own business in public.

"With all the vanity in this world I know you have better content than this. Let the girl yoga at the beach. She wasn't even recording herself," one person wrote, with another agreeing, "Isn't the point of this page them filming themselves, hint, influencers? She's just doing a headstand."
The sentiment that the Instagram page was straying from its original mission gathered momentum. "This page is slowly turning into a collection of random people recording strangers just existing in public," one person asserted, "Running low on content? Let yoga gal live!" Someone else weighed in, agreeing that the woman on the beach doing yoga was "definitely not" doing so for attention.
'Worried some creep could record me'
More defenders of the yogi spoke up, with one follower taking clear aim at the page, saying, "I'm not getting why this video is on this profile? So now you can't do yoga in public places (beach, park) because you will be caught on video and posted at @influencersinthewild."
"Yeah this really makes me nervous to just be my whacky self," someone else agreed, "I'm not doing it for the gram, I'm just weird and now I'm worried some creep could record me and post it to the internet."
Some eagle-eyed followers thought they spied a phone nearby, recording the yoga pose and they rallied in support of the page. They pointed out a possible phone set-up near the woman sun baking in the background, but it's not clear if it was even there, let alone used to record.
"Maybe you have a better phone or eyesight than me cos that is hella blurry," said one person, with another adding definitively, "I don't see her recording herself. She's just having fun at the beach. Leave her alone."
Finally, one astute follower pointed out, "This person (filming) brought their phone into the ocean and they think the girl on the beach is a loser?"
And ain't that the truth?
