Who Is Tyrus' Wife? All About Ingrid Murdoch
WWE star Tyrus has a blended family with his wife Ingrid Murdoch
Wrestling champion George “Tyrus” Murdoch may be passionate about fitness but he always makes time for his wife, Ingrid Murdoch.
The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion first started dating Murdoch a decade ago but surprised his longtime love with an emerald engagement ring in April 2020 to make it official. Tyrus and Murdoch officially married in January 2024. A decade before their nuptials, Tyrus and Murdoch welcomed their daughter, Georgie, in May 2014.
A longtime fitness enthusiast, Murdoch founded The Rinck Routine, a holistic life and fitness brand, and Sensible Meals, a meal prep company, after a 20-year career as a personal trainer. Although Tyrus and Murdoch were longtime residents of her home state, Louisiana, the couple moved to a farm in northern New Jersey in spring 2024.
So, who is Tyrus’ wife? Here’s everything you need to know about Ingrid Murdoch and her relationship with the former wrestler.
She is an entrepreneur
Inspired by workout classes as a teenager, Murdoch launched a 25-year personal training career before founding The Rinck Routine and Sensible Meals. The long-time advocate of holistic healthy living has said she lost 150 pounds through conscious eating and exercising.
“To me The [Rinck] Routine is a routine of your day,” she explained on Ask Dr. Drew in 2022. “What you do every single day and what you practice is the outcome of your life.”
In 2024, Murdoch announced that she would be renaming her fitness routines because she didn't want to be associated with her birth name.
"Don’t ever want to be attached to a Rinck again in life so couldn’t keep building a brand with a name I hated. Took some time off to pivot and decided I really miss choreographing, teaching, leading ... What should I call my workouts now?" she wrote on Instagram.
Murdoch's son inspired one of her businesses
Murdoch's pivot to nutritional health came a decade ago when her son from a previous marriage was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
“[Friends] saw my success with portion-controlled meals that I created for my son and wanted me to replicate the meals for them. And that’s how my business started,” she told Sophisticated Woman in 2018.
The CEO added, “I didn’t always have the right tools, but I have genuine passion and love for what I do and the people I interact with ... I want to show my kids that if you have passion and drive, you can do anything."
In addition to Rock, Tyrus and Murdoch parent her other son Rhett and at least two children Tyrus shares with his former partner.
Tyrus has praised his wife on TV
Tyrus bragged about his wife in a 2023 Fox News segment, calling her “chief of staff, top dog, a number one and queen of my tiny wild kingdom,” before introducing the world to their collection of exotic reptiles at their former Mandeville, La. home.
Now residents of a farm in New Jersey, the animal-loving pair also spend a lot of time with horses to encourage their daughter, Georgie, a budding equestrian.
Tyrus and Murdoch married in 2024
In April 2020, Tyrus gifted Ingrid an emerald and diamond engagement ring.
“Married for years but officially gave her a real proposal. It’s never to late to make things right!” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) alongside a photo of his bride. “This woman is my everything and she deserves the world and it’s my honor she chose me.”
While Tyrus has called Murdoch his wife for many years, Clark County Clerk documents show that the couple obtained their marriage license on Jan. 6, 2024.
They attend events together
In 2022, Murdoch was by Tyrus' side when he was honored as a King of Mardi Gras by the Krewe of Orpheus, a New Orleans-based organization founded by Harry Connick Jr.
Other nights out for the couple include VIP access to a Smashing Pumpkins concert in New Orleans where they were guests of Tyrus’ friend Billy Corgan. Murdoch later shared that public date nights come with a price. “George probably took 200 pictures with fans,” she shared on Instagram about the concert. “I’m glad he has such a huge following but makes date nights quality time hard especially when he is gone so much right now with work.”
Despite Tyrus’ hectic work schedule, Murdoch makes time to accompany him on the road. She booked his 2022 tour for Just Tyrus: A Memoir, joining him on personal appearances throughout the United States, and she will join her husband on his nationwide 2024 What It Is comedy tour.
Murdoch and Tyrus have a blended family - and everyone helps take care of the family's pets
On Fox News in 2023, Tyrus called his wife “Queen of my tiny wild kingdom,” playfully referred to as “Tyrus-zilla Zoo," which includes exotic fish, turtles, snakes, lizards and chameleons. But Murdoch is not a natural-born zoo keeper.
“I strongly disliked animals and reptiles,” she confessed in the segment. “I think it was just that I disliked the people more so than the animals.” Despite this initial hesitation, Murdoch stepped in and took the reins from the couple’s former animal curator, creating a “streamlined operation."
She even piped in the sound of rain and thunder at night to encourage the animals to breed, a tip she said she learned through online tutorials. Murdoch added, jokingly, “I don’t actually have to do the work to take care of the animals, I just boss everyone around and get the work done.”
Playing the role of momager, Murdoch employs her kids to help with the family zoo. The couple’s daughter, Georgie, is tasked with bathing and playing with the animals; Murdoch's son, Rhett, does “the heavy lifting” and the “dirty work,” according to his mom; and Rhett’s girlfriend, Julia, ensures the tanks and cages are kept clean.
“My husband always underestimates me, but one thing he should know about me is that if I’m going to take something over, it’s going to be done right,” she added. Tyrus said he is thrilled with his wife’s managerial skills. “I could not be happier with how my animals are looking and feeling and my mental health is 1000% better because [Ingrid] is doing a great job," he said.
Tyrus has supported Murdoch in challenging times
Throughout their relationship, Murdoch and Tyrus have celebrated happy milestones and weathered public challenges together including a 2019 sexual harassment lawsuit against the Fox News personality by his former co-host Britt McHenry, which was dismissed with an undisclosed settlement two years later. Murdoch appeared to comment on the ordeal in December 2022 with a TikTok video of her and daughter, Georgie, on a tropical vacation.
“The trauma my family has endured this past year is too much to even share,” she wrote. “But one thing that happened is my husband became an even stronger leader for his family. Everytime he [saw] me fading, he sent me with our princess to find some magical healing.”
Posing on a beachside lounger with a copy of her husband’s 2023 book Nuff Said under her arm, Murdoch went on to note the healing benefits of “the sun, water, and time with your kids,” adding, “Thank you my love for always knowing when my wounds are becoming too much to handle and just how to help me heal.”
