Yahoo Lifestyle Tyra Banks Pops in Yellow Blazer at Australian Open 2025, Launches Smize Ice Cream Pop-up Inspired by Her Childhood and Mother’s Support of Her Modeling Career
Tyra Banks was the latest star to join several high-profile guests at the 2025 Australian Open in Melbourne, Australia, on Thursday. The longtime model and former Victoria’s Secret Angel attended the AO Inspirational Series red carpet event.
For the occasion, Banks opted to suit up, favoring a bold, contrasting colorway for the event. Banks wore a yellow double-breasted blazer, featuring sinuous lapels, side pockets, rounded shoulders and flat buttons on the garment.

The yellow piece served as the ideal contrast to her subdued black, wide-leg trousers and pointed-toe shoes. She also wore a black shirt beneath her blazer, which created a bustier effect with its plunging neckline.
When it came to jewelry, Banks opted for complete minimalism. Instead, she kept the focus on her business-style sartorial statement and her glam. Banks’ makeup featured stand-out elements, including bold, smokey eyes and a glossy lip. Her hair was styled with shaggy curls and her face was framed perfectly by her choppy fringe.
The AO Inspirational Series has been a cornerstone of the Australian Open tennis tournament for the last nine years. The event celebrates diverse voices from various disciplines and backgrounds, including sports, arts, business and philanthropy.
Banks herself has found a way to integrate into different domains. A savvy businesswoman and entrepreneur, the longtime model got her start on the runway and became a trailblazer in the fashion industry.
Banks made history once again when she returned to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in October 2024. “It feels crazy being back on the Victoria’s Secret runway. I mean, like, ‘cray cray,’ as in ‘cray cray good,’” Banks said during the lead-up to the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. “I never thought that I would be back on this runway, to be honest.”
While in Australia, Banks will launch her “Tyra’s Time Travel Tasting Tour” pop-up series on Thursday in Sydney featuring her ice cream brand Smize. “This ‘pop-up pop-around’ is dedicated to my past — a celebration of my best memories with my Mama Carolyn,” she told fans on her Instagram account. “Back in the day, Friday nights meant epic bonding over ice cream. Little did she know, between her big love and my even bigger forehead — yep, I said it — she was shaping a dream that would one day turn into this crazy, colorful ice cream universe.”
The temporary outpost will be hosted at The Rocks Square with ice cream flavors that nod to her childhood. During a presentation on Wednesday, she displayed a note inspired by her mother’s longtime support of her modeling career. “I see you strutting around the house like the world is already yours. Spoiler alert: one day, catwalks will be! Keep practicing that fierce walk — it’s gonna take you places beyond your wildest dreams,” the message read. “But here’s the thing: walk with swagger. And when you fall (because you will fall), get back up and sashay even harder. PS: Don’t just walk for yourself — lift others along the way. Turn their steps into flights, and together, y’all will soar.”
