TVLine Items: Patrick Star Renewed, Jane Fonda’s SAG Award and More

Are you ready, kids? Two new seasons of The Patrick Star Show are coming your way.

The SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff has been renewed for Seasons 4 and 5 at Nickelodeon, TVLine has confirmed. The news was revealed during the SpongeBob panel at New York Comic Con on Friday.

The spinoff, which debuted in 2021, is a prequel centered on SpongeBob’s starfish pal Patrick (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke) that “follows a younger Patrick Star living at home with his family, where he hosts his own variety show for the neighborhood from his television-turned-bedroom.” (Press PLAY above to watch a clip from an upcoming Thanksgiving-themed episode.)

* Jane Fonda has been named the 60th recipient of the SAG Life Achievement Award for her career and humanitarian accomplishments, SAG-AFTRA announced on Thursday. Fonda will be presented the honor at the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will stream live on Netflix Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at 8 pm ET.

* OWN has announced premiere dates for three original holiday movies: A Season to Remember (starring Michele Weaver and Nathan Owens) on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 9/8c; Mistletoe & Matrimony (starring Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut and Etienne Maurice) on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 9 pm; and 24-Karat Christmas (starring Samantha Marie Ware and Curtis Hamilton) on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 9 pm.

* Charles Esten (Outer Banks, Nashville), Jill Wagner (Lioness) and Sam Page (The Bold Type) have joined Homestead, a series continuation of the upcoming film of the same name starring Neal McDonough, our sister site Deadline reports. The show — based on Jeff Kirkham and Jason Ross’ book series Black Autumn — “revolves around a family’s attempts to survive after a world-ending tragedy,” and will premiere exclusively on the Angel Studios platform.
