Zimmer will play Dana Berg, a relentless prosecutor featured in author Michael Connelly’s sixth book in the Lincoln Lawyer series, The Law of Innocence. Dana will go up against Mickey Haller in court when he has to defend himself against murder charges. She also worked with Mickey’s first ex-wife, Maggie (Neve Campbell), in the L.A. DA’s office.
Zimmer’s many TV credits include Good Trouble (where she also played a lawyer), Big Sky, House of Cards, Entourage and Boston Legal, to name a few.

* Singer/songwriter Jelly Roll will return to American Idol during the upcoming season (premiering Sunday, March 9) as the show’s first-ever “Artist in Residence,” beginning with Hollywood Week. Jelly Roll — who previously served as a mentor last season — “will work closely with the Idol hopefuls, giving them firsthand advice on how to navigate the journey,” ABC announced.
* Mark Strong (Dune: Prophecy) has joined Apple TV+’s Neuromancer series adaptation in the role of Armitage, our sister site Variety reports.
* Netflix’s Physical: 100 for Season 3 has been rebranded Physical: Asia, to premiere in Q4 of this year. Physical: Asia transforms the battleground into “a high-stakes team competition featuring top-tier athletes representing their respective countries. If a single teammate falls, the entire squad is eliminated.” Pro boxer Manny Pacquiao will be the Philippine representative.
* Netflix has released a trailer for the SpongeBob SquarePants offshoot Plankton: The Movie, premiering Friday, March 7:
