TVLine Items: Brilliant Minds’ XL Finale, Percy Jackson Adds Four and More

Brilliant Minds will scrub out sooner than expected.

The Zachary Quinto medical drama, which originally was scheduled to wrap on Monday, Jan. 13, will now air its Season 1 finale a week earlier, on Jan. 6, when it returns to NBC with back-to-back episodes at an earlier time, 9/8c.

Inspired by the life and work of world-famous author and physician Oliver Sacks, the series follows Quinto’s Dr. Wolf, a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist, as he and a team of interns “explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health,” according to the official logline.

Ready for more of today’s newsy nuggets? Well…

* Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians has added four guest stars to its sophomore season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rosemarie DeWitt (The Boys) will play stylish guru C.C., Aleks Paunovic (Snowpiercer) will play blinded cyclops Polyphemus, and Beatrice Kitsos (iZombie) and Kevin Chacon (Jessica Jones) will recur as demigods.

* Joseph Lee (BEEF) will star opposite Callum Turner and Briana Middleton in Apple TV+’s Neuromancer, Deadline reports. He’ll play Hideo, who in William Gibson’s award-winning novel is a ninja bodyguard.

* Song Kang-Ho (Parasite) will recur in Season 2 of the Netflix anthology BEEF in an undisclosed role, per Deadline. He joins an ensemble that includes Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny and Youn Yuh-jung.

* The newest season of C.B. StrikeC.B. Strike: The Ink Black Heart — will premiere Thursday, Jan. 23 on HBO.
