Travis Kelce Makes a Daring Claim About Taylor Swift's Fans

Travis Kelce made a bold claim about girlfriend Taylor Swift's fans—and some vehemently disagreed with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

After sportscaster Stephen A. Smith asked Kelce, 35, if it's OK to call him a Swiftie during an interview on Wednesday, Jan. 15, the three-time Super Bowl champion replied, "I'm the number one Swiftie," later adding that he's tied "neck and neck" with the 14-time Grammy winner's mom, Andrea Swift.

Fans appeared to have mixed reactions over Kelce's statement, with one fan writing, "Along with a billion other Swifties."

Another added, "Please he doesn't even have a favorite non radio single song 😭 (his own song doesn't count) he's maybe number 878,913 Swiftie. But he ain't number 1."

Despite some naysayers, others agreed with the "New Heights" podcaster, with one social media user writing, "Of course he is. He loves her."

Kelce and Taylor's romance began in the summer of 2023. In her TIME "Person of the Year" cover story in December that year, the Tortured Poets Department artist, 35, opened up about the couple's relationship for the first time.

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she told the outlet. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

Both Taylor and Kelce have shown their unwavering support for one another throughout their relationship. The NFL superstar attended numerous Eras Tour shows over the course of the years-long international tour, even appearing onstage during one of her shows at Wembley Stadium in London in June last year.

For her part, the "Fortnight" crooner has cheered Kelce and the rest of the Chiefs on at the majority of their games at their home Arrowhead Stadium during the 2024–2025 NFL season as the franchise seeks their third consecutive Super Bowl win.
