Top Secret: Everything We Know About the ‘The Night Agent’ Season 3
The season 2 finale of The Night Agent left a lot questions unanswered. What's going on with Peter and Rose? And how is Peter going to survive his perilous new Night Action assignment? With all these cliffhangers, it's no wonder your first thought after finishing your binge would be whether or not The Night Agent season 3 is happening. So, what's the word on season 3? Don't worry, unlike Peter, you won't have to face super spy foes to get the info you're after.
Here's everything we know about The Night Agent season 3:
Are there plans for The Night Agent season 3?
Yes! Not only is The Night Agent already renewed for another season, they've even started filming. Production reportedly began in Istanbul last year, with the crew expected to be moving to film in New York City sometime in 2025.
What will The Night Agent season 3 be about?
[Spoilers for season 2 ahead, so if you haven't finished yet, come back later!] Season 2 ended with Peter becoming a double agent tasked with finding out the truth about Jacob Monroe, the intelligence broker who forced him to betray his country in order to save Rose and prevent a terrorist attack. Now that he's technically working a solo mission—without the help of the U.S. government or Rose (for now)—Peter's skills are going to be put to the test. Not only will he have to continue building a relationship with Monroe, he's also going to have to evade the actual law while he does whatever Monroe wants him to do.
Though nothing has been officially confirmed about the plot, star Gabriel Basso teased the first episode of season 3. "The stuff we were able to get on camera that was unplanned was nuts. I do some stunts in there that I can't believe Netflix signed off on," he said in an interview with Games Radar. "The actors all killed it. The action was insane. If I'm ranking the three seasons in their openings, this is our strongest of all seasons. And that's just one episode." So expect more stunts and a lot more danger for Peter.
Basso also praised the writers, saying, "I think this show is refreshing in the sense that Peter never feels insulated from consequence. Season 3 is a really good example of that." Sounds ominous!
Who is in The Night Agent season 3 cast?
Basso will return to reprise his role as Peter in season 3, but no other returning characters have been confirmed. Given the season 2 finale, however, I'm guessing that the returning cast will look something like this:
Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland
Luciane Buchanan as Rose Larkin
Amanda Warren as Catherine Weaver
Fola Evans-Akingbola as Chelsea Arrington
Louis Herthum as Jacob Monroe
As for new cast members, David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Moyer, Genesis Rodriguez, Callum Vinson, and Suraj Sharma have been announced as joining season 3, though their characters remain a mystery.
When will The Night Agent come back for season 3?
It's unclear when exactly the third season of the hit spy show will return, but given that they are already filming, I'd expect The Night Agent season 3 to premiere sometime in 2026. In the meantime, you can rewatch all episodes on Netflix.
