Tom Holland is venturing back into his past.

In an interview with Good Morning America, the 28-year-old actor reflected on some of his earlier works before becoming well-known as Spider-Man.

In one clip, Holland watched a video of himself practicing for his role in the musical Billy Elliot, where he starred as the titular character beginning in 2008. He recalled getting in trouble with his parents for mispronouncing the word "spotted."

"I remember my dad corrected me, saying, 'No, son, it's not spodded; it's spotted,'" Holland said, putting emphasis on the letter 'T.' He added that looking back, he would tell his younger self to "stick with it and keep having fun." He would also advise himself not to let the work become "too much."

During the interview, Holland also watched himself in the 2021 movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he played Peter Parker. He recounted how he and his costars, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, improvised a few lines in the film.

"I loved being on set with those guys in our suits, having the freedom to kind of just make stuff up and have fun with it," he said. "And a testament to John Watts, our director, because he created an environment that's so creatively inspiring that we got some really cool stuff from just the three of us having a lot of fun together."

Holland added that, as a Spider-Man fan himself, being part of the film and keeping secrets about the plot was challenging. "It was actually torturous," he said.

He also reflected on the first time he walked onto a Spider-Man set in costume, noting he will never forget that day. "It was amazing," he says, adding how it still feels like just yesterday. "We had so much fun. I remember just laughing and laughing and laughing. And poor Jon, it was like herding cats when we were all on set together."

"It was a good time," Holland added. "I'm grateful to those guys for coming and doing such a good job being part of it and sharing their experience with me."

Pretty soon, Holland will be getting back into his spidey suit. During a previous appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he confirmed that Spider-Man 4 begins filming next year.

"It's happening," Holland revealed, as Fallon rose from his desk to embrace the actor and celebrate the news. "Next summer, we start shooting, everything's good to go. We're nearly there," he added. "Super exciting. Yeah, I can't wait."

The next Spider-Man movie will follow 2021's No Way Home, in which Holland famously teamed up with former Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in a film that celebrated the two-decade history of Spider-Man movies.

Since then, updates on a fourth movie have been few and far between, though Holland and studio executives remained insistent a sequel would be made.
