Tom Holland jokes that studios love when he works with Zendaya: 'Only 1 hotel room'

The Spider-Man actor calls the relationship with his past and future costar the "best thing that's ever happened to me."

Tom Holland and Zendaya have both benefitted greatly from their relationship — and apparently, so have the studios that employ them.

The two buzzy young actors met while filming their Spider-Man trilogy, and have been cast together in Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan's next film. That's fine by the studio, Holland joked in a new interview.

"Studios love it: One hotel room," Holland said in his recent appearance on the podcast Dish. But, he clarified, "separate drivers. We're not crazy."

On a more serious (and sweet) note, Holland said that having a romantic partner who shares the same job, relationship to fame, and work schedule (especially when they're on the same movie!) has been very nice for them both.

"It's a saving grace," Holland said, before going even further, adding, "Best thing that's ever happened to me."

Zendaya and Tom Holland in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'

The untitled Nolan film will mark Holland and Zendaya's first on-screen collaboration since 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home. But that's one of the only things we know for sure about it — along with the fact that the cast also includes previous Nolan collaborators Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway. Holland didn't have much more to share about it on Dish.

"It hasn't started shooting. To be perfectly honest with you, I don't know anything about it," Holland said. "I'm super excited. Everything is very hush-hush. I met with [Nolan], it was awesome. He loosely pitched what it was, and I'm sure when he's ready, he'll announce what it is."

That seems like an indication that Holland has gotten much more tight-lipped about details of his projects than when he was known for accidentally spoiling Marvel movies.

Holland has also confirmed that he's working on a fourth Spider-Man movie, to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton in place of Jon Watts (who helmed the first three). But there's no word yet on if Zendaya (whose character, MJ, suffered a mindwipe that took away all her memories of Spider-Man at the end of No Way Home) will return as well. It's set to start shooting next summer for a 2026 release date.
