Today show hosts shocked as 'angry' lion leaps at Scherri-Lee Biggs
The Today Show hosts were left in shock earlier this week when Scherri-Lee Biggs hosted a segment from Sydney Zoo that didn't go exactly to plan.
The weather presenter was joined by a caged lion for the segment and after feeding it a piece of meat it decided to lunge forward towards Scherri-Lee, causing David Campbell to almost jump out of his seat in the studio.
"Oh my god!" Scherri-Lee exclaimed. "I think that is because I called him an elephant... He is very angry."
Thankfully, there was no way the lion could have actually got close to Scherri-Lee, but when she questioned whether the lion knew she was scared, the zookeeper admitted he might.

When she tried feeding him one more time, the same thing happened with the presenter telling the audience, "I think he knows that I'm scared of him!"
However, she continued, saying that despite the fact he seemed to like lunging at her, the lion was very handsome.
Scherri-Lee's Instagram followers thought that the lion may have actually liked her, which is why he kept lunging for her.
"Maybe he has good taste in women?" one user joked.
"I laughed out loud at this, this morning. Very entertaining," another added.
"Yikes, he definitely wanted to eat you!" someone else said.
Fans of the Today Show have been loving the presenter's stint filling in for Tim Davies as the weather presenter, with some even requesting she be made permanent.
"You need to be the new full-time weather girl on Today show!" one follower wrote on one of her Instagram posts.
"You're doing a fantastic job," another added. "Sydney's gain, Perth's loss," a third wrote.
Scherri-Lee responded, "Thank you, it’s been so much fun. But now I know why @mr_timdavies deserves a well-earned break."
