Today's Karl Stefanovic shocks with rude gesture during ad break

Karl Stefanovic has already admitted he is struggling to remain positive for Today show viewers, as the country continues to tackle the current Covid outbreak and millions of Australians remain in lockdown.

And now a bizarre behind the scenes moment has revealed just how 'over' the situation Karl really seems to be, as he looks to flip the bird at entertainment reporter Brooke Boney in a clip she shared on social media.

The moment was filmed during an ad break and did seem to leave Brooke looking less than impressed.

"Day 8,789,765 of lockdown," she captioned the post.

"And I want to go to the [MCG], I want to have three meat pies and 45 schooners and watch the AFL grand final.

"I don't want to see it moved to Perth. I want games back at the [MCG], I want normal life.

"I'm really upset."

It comes as another capital city in Australia will enter lockdown today, with Canberra issuing stay at home orders after a Covid case was found in the Australian Capital Territory.

Cases have also spread into northwest NSW, sending a host of regional communities into lockdown.

On Wednesday restrictions were announced for the Dubbo, Bogan, Bourke, Brewarrina, Coonamble, Gilgandra, Narromine, Walgett and Warren local government areas.
