Today Co-Host Sheinelle Jones Confirms Extended Break to Deal With Family Health Matter

Viewers of Today won’t see co-host Sheinelle Jones back on their screens for a while.

Jones posted on Instagram on Wednesday that she is taking an extended break from the NBC morning show to deal with a “family health matter.” Jones, who has been absent from Today since Dec. 18, didn’t disclose the nature of the health matter or whom it involved, but instead thanked her Today show family and fans for their ongoing support.

This spring, Jones will release her first book Through Mom’s Eyes, inspired by her work on the Today show interviewing celebrity mothers about raising children.
