If you’ve ever gone out for brunch, you’ve probably faced the dilemma of choosing between a sweet or savory dish. Thanks to a viral TikTok video, people have found a solution to this age-old struggle.

In the video, Rebecca, who goes by the username @phdinclothes, shares a video of herself sitting at a brunch table. The TikTok captures her and the person across from her with their own savory dishes in front of them; meanwhile, in the middle of the table sits a single pancake covered in butter and syrup for them to share.

"This is the brunch hack guys," she captions the video, which later captures someone reaching out to dig into the sweet dish.

Since posting earlier this month, the video has gone viral, amassing more than 1.9 million views and nearly 1,000 comments. In the comment section, people have been quick to chime into the conversation and add how they, too, also follow this brunch hack.

"I thought my husband and I invented table pancake! It’s absolutely the move," one comment reads.

"I always order a side of pancakes and share with the whole table and nobody ever catches on that I’m actually ordering table pancakes bc I know everyone wants it but won’t say 😅," another person writes.

Someone else says, "omg my friends and i do table pancake! i’ve never seen anyone else talk about its excellence 🥞."

In the comments, some users also offer their own renditions on how to solve the sweet versus savory debate. One person shares, "Alternatively, having a person who wants the same savory dish and same sweet one and you split halfsies."

"My family does this with French toast because there is always some sort of amazing custard but who can eat all that sugar for breakfast 😂," someone else says.

Another user adds, "My husband and I do this except we ask them to put in the pancake order as they set down our other food so the pancake is like a dessert when it comes."

But for some, this brunch hack is completely new. "our minds have been BLOWN today 😱," one account writes.

"I cried at brunch with my husband last month because I couldn't decide and this has been an option the entire time?" someone else adds.

Another comment reads, "OH MY GOD why have I never though of this?!"
