There's a reason for MAFS bride Elizabeth's hair extensions
There was no missing outspoken bride Elizabeth on last night’s episode of Married at First Sight.
From her more is more approach to makeup, to her say-it-as-she-sees-it approach to life, it wasn’t hard to see why producers labelled her ‘Australia’s most confident bride’.
But there’s one aspect of the 27-year-old’s signature look that has a particular reason behind it – and that’s her lengthy hair extensions.
Elizabeth has an autoimmune condition that means she needs to protect her skin from the sun, and her long hair is a part of that, she tells OK! Magazine.
“I love the beach, but if I’m going to go, I know that for two weeks after I’m not going to be so well,” she says.
“I’m basically allergic to the sun. I get burns on my body. I also have a really photosensitive scalp and ears, so I get a rash, which is why I wear hair extensions to act as a hat.”
Her extensions garnered a lot of attention on social media (and not the good kind). But her husband Sam’s personal grooming also didn’t escape the public’s attention.

Why does Sam’s hair remind me of this? #MAFS pic.twitter.com/VkwS4khLXH

Ok Sam's beard??#MAFS Why are men growing beards and still manicuring them into perfection by still shaving aswell.
If you have a beard, let it rock, let the beard hair be wild & rustic. Keep it masculine, don't shave! #MAFSAU— Belinda King (@bellaboodadumbu) February 3, 2019
Interestingly, Elizabeth only became a blonde relatively recently, and was rocking a much darker hairstyle last year. Take a look at our gallery for more photos.
