The Voice winner reveals on Sunrise what she'll do with $100k prize

Newly crowned winner of The Voice Australia Bella Taylor Smith has revealed what she plans to do with her winnings, as she sat down for a chat with Sunrise hosts Natalie Barr and David Koch on Monday morning.

As the winner of The Voice Bella takes home a prize of $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia, with Kochie particularly interested in what she hopes to do with the cash.

"What are you going to do with the $100K?," he asked after the presenters congratulated her on her win over fellow grand finalists, Arlo Sim, Mick Harrington, and girl group G-Nation.

"Pay some bills," Bella said, before adding "hopefully plan a holiday when everything opens back up".

"Just get my life together and in order a little bit so it's going to be huge for me, that part of it," she added.

Given four different finale outcomes of The Voice were pre-recorded due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Nat asked Bella about how she felt when the outcome was finally revealed.

"You had no idea what was going to happen. How surprised were you?" she asked.

The singing teacher said she was "shocked" and "thrilled" when she realised she had won.

"I think I'm still in shock to be honest, I'm not sure if I believe it yet," Bella added.

Indeed fans weren't that happy about the pre-recorded The Voice finale with many taking to social media to complain the celebrations after the announcement seemed ‘fake’.

Viewers were still able to cast their votes for their favourite performer, and then Channel 7 simply played the winner’s edit for whoever won.

“Well that was a bit of a fizzer of a reaction,” one person wrote, with another saying: “Congratulations Bella but so disappointed at having to watch fake reactions at a prerecorded grand final. Second year in a row. What an anti climax.”

Despite not knowing whether or not she had won during filming, Bella had already scored a major win on the night when her coach Guy Sebastian asked her to join him on his upcoming arena tour.

"Guy asked you to tour with him! You're going to be busy," Kochie said.

"I am I think," Bella replied. "I'm just thrilled, couldn't be more grateful."

Bella also revealed that she and coach Guy had already caught up and had a chat after her win last night.

"He is just the best, he really is invested in to me and my career and is the most lovely mentor and coach," she said, adding plans for her album are already underway.

Bella added she can't wait to get into the studio to start recording her "many ideas".

"So original music? That's fabulous!" Kochie exclaimed.
