The Voice's dramatic judges divide as 'messed up' rivalry heats up

The Voice coaches are taking sides as the blind auditions heat up.

Things are heating up on The Voice, with a very clear divide among the coaches for this season.

Aussie judges Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy have made their intentions clear to international judges Rita Ora and Jason Derulo, with Guy stating they can't let Jason or Rita win this year's competition.

"We can’t have another year where an international wins. Rita won last year," he said.

“We need to bring the crown back to home turf. It’s like the Ashes - doesn’t belong in England, belongs right here.”

Last year's winner Rita was quick to fire back at the Aussie coaches, saying they had an unfair advantage.

“No offence, but you know half of the Aussies - you’re like ‘Hey, John! Hey, Tom! Hey, Susan!’” Rita said.

"Aussies are just like that, we have connection, we have a good vibe," Jessica said to a huge crowd reaction.

"Did she just get the crowd involved? That was low," Jason said with Rita agreeing. "That's messed up!"

Jason agreed the Aussie judges were playing it tough in an effort to win the 2023 series, but he had a few words of warning.

"When somebody has home court advantage, a lot of times they get comfortable,” he said. “That’s the perfect time to come in and swoop to win, you know?”

Jason previously talked about Guy Sebastian being his biggest threat in The Voice competition.

"It’s the nicest person in the room you’ve got to watch out for because they’ll be the most cut-throat,” he said.

“Guy is a poet, and it’s like a song that comes out of him when he’s trying to get people onto his team. I’ve got to keep my eye constantly on Guy.”
