The Voice Australia 2023 winner has been announced in a nail-biting finale, with Tarryn Stokes taking home $100,000 prize money and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia.

40-year-old mum-of-two, Tarryn, from Melbourne, took out the trophy on season 12 of the hit Channel 7 show, beating out three other incredible finalists for the coveted crown.

"I feel like The Voice has actually changed my life," Tarryn said when her name was called out.

“It feels amazing, going from The Blinds to being in the Grand Finale and somehow believing that I can do this, it’s just thanks to Rita for believing in me.”

Her coach, Rita Ora, who has now won the competition two years in a row, said: "Are you kidding me? You did this. You did this! It’s just incredible, you’re incredible, please answer my phone calls once in a while and just remember this is just the start. I’m so happy for you, well done Australia; thank you so much.”

Speaking about Tarryn and her journey previously, Rita said: “Tarryn’s sacrificed time with her kids to make her dream come true. She is undoubtedly one of the best singers I’ve seen on a show like this.”

Tarryn shared: “I want people to know that they can still pursue their dreams as parents. I really want to win.”

Ezra Williams from Team Jess, Tarryn Stokes from Team Rita, Charlie Pittman from Team Guy and Ethan Beckton from Team Jason went head-to-head to compete for The Voice contract.

Each artist performed both a solo song and a duet with their coach before the winner was announced.

However, it was Tarryn's mind-blowing final solo performance of Celine Dion’s All By Myself that left all four coaches awe-struck as Guy Sebastian declared her voice “just perfection.”

Earlier, Tarryn joined Rita Ora on stage for a duet of Tina Turner’s Simply The Best.

Another said: "Congrats @tarrynstokes, well deserved one of the best voices I’ve ever heard ❤️"

Earlier in the night, fans were treated to a special performance by singing superstar and The Voice judge Jason Derulo, who sang a medley of all his hit songs.

He also announced at the end of his performance that he will be bringing his tour to Australia in July 2024.
