The TikTok trick you need to try for spot-free glassware: 'Works like a charm'
The dishwasher technique has received mixed reviews from viewers.
Are you tired of finding spots on your glassware after a run through the dishwasher? If so, TikToker and home contractor Ken Long might have just the solution you need. With a sizeable audience eagerly awaiting his regular household tips, Long recently shared a clever trick that promises to leave your dishes dry and spot-free.
In a video posted on the platform, Long demonstrates his technique: "Here's an easy way to dry your dishes faster, and spot-free," he says. "Once the cycle's finished, take a towel and drape it over the front of the dishwasher, leaving the majority of the towel inside the dishwasher. Then you're gonna close the dishwasher, let it sit like that for about 15 minutes. The towel absorbs all the moisture, leaving your glasses dry and spot-free."

Long's hack has garnered attention from followers seeking an efficient way to tackle post-dishwasher drying.
"My dishwasher doesn't really have a drying cycle so I do this," one person replied, echoing the sentiments of others who had found success with the method. "Works like a charm every time."
Social media divided
However, not everyone is convinced of the towel trick's effectiveness. While some users applauded the ingenuity, others were quick to caution against it.
"No no no no no! No towel needed! It ruins the latch. Just open without towel as soon as washer stops for best results," one person advised.
Indeed, several commenters expressed concerns about potential damage to the appliance. "That can damage the dishwasher," many warned in unison, urging users to consider alternative methods for drying dishes.
"Get a good dishwasher and just leave it open at the end," suggested someone else, advocating for the use of appliances with proper drying cycles.
Indeed, despite the mixed reactions, the majority of users reported negative outcomes from attempting Long's technique and the drawbacks became evident.
