The Project's Waleed Aly left gobsmacked over co-host's swipe at Osher Günsberg

Osher Günsberg missed out on the Gold Logie on Sunday night and Sam Taunton didn't let him forget it.

Sonia Kruger took home the Gold Logie on Sunday night after beating out six of her industry peers, including The Bachelor host Osher Günsberg.

On Monday night, The Project comedian Sam Taunton couldn’t resist taking a cheeky swipe at Osher’s loss, leaving his co-hosts shocked.

Sam played a snippet from his time on the red carpet on Sunday night, where it showed him having a friendly chat with Osher before the pair say goodbye.

However, Osher missed Sam’s attempt to shake his hand at the end of the interview, leading to a pretty hilarious and admittedly embarrassing moment for Sam.

Making a joke about the situation on the show, Sam said: “Osher forgot about me like the general public forgot to vote for him.”

Waleed Aly looked absolutely gobsmacked at the joke, sitting with his mouth open while fellow co-host Sarah Harris smiled awkwardly.

The studio audience also gasped at the joke, with Sam clarifying that he didn’t mean anything by it at all.

“I’m sorry Osher I love you,” he said.

Steve Price shut him down straight away, saying: “At least he got a nomination for a Gold Logie, where was your nomination?”

Sam laughed his way through the segment, saying: “I’m sorry Osher I love you. It’s a bit of fun.”

Just a few days ago, Osher appeared on The Project to reveal he didn't think he was going to win when he was in the same category as Hamish Blake.

"The guy's amazing and generous and kind and lovely and deserves everything," he said.
