The Morning Show's Kylie Gillies celebrates major milestone

The Morning Show host Kylie Gillies has just reached a major family milestone. The star, 56, dedicated a loving tribute to her husband Tony Gillies to celebrate 34 years of marriage.

The pair tied the knot in 1989 and are proud parents to Gus, 19, and 17-year-old Archie. Kylie shared a carousel of goofy photos and videos on Instagram from a boat ride back in 2021.

In one of the videos, Kylie seems to be ‘annoying’ her husband while he drives a boat, with him shaking his head at her constant filming.

“34 years married today. Jeez. I went looking for pics and came across these. From 2021. And I think the sequence sums up our marriage pretty well,” she wrote in the caption.

“Me. Phaffing around. Adding colour and movement. And just being generally annoying. And Tony. Calm, steadfast, steering the ship. Confident and keeping us safe.

“Note the shake of his head in video 3. He’s over it, but I can still make him smile,” she quipped.

“After 34 years we’re carrying a few barnacles darl, but I reckon we still make good shipmates. Happy Anniversary. (I was going to say something about smooth sailing but anyone who’s married knows it can’t always be that),” she finished.

Her celebrity pals were quick to send their congratulations, including former Sunrise hosts Sam Armytage and Melissa Doyle.

“Awwwwww cute. Congrats you two…phaffing and being generally annoying really works for you Kylie. Hope you had a romantic night at a fancy restaurant, oooops I mean on the couch watching the coronation. Cheers to 50 more years of wedded bliss and boating,” quipped The Morning Show co-host Larry Emdur.

“Love this. Happy Anniversary lovebirds,” added TV personality Sally Obermeder.

“Fantastic! Congrats on such a milestone,” former Marie Claire Australia editor Jackie Frank wrote.

Her fans also applauded her for being honest about marriage in her caption.

“Love the smooth sailing comment — thank you for being real. Happy anniversary,” a fan gushed.

“Yes lots of bumps along the way. Makes the journey interesting and strengthens the bond. Congratulations,” another added.

“God how I love this…and your honesty! 25 years strong for us..and not a day goes past where we aren’t working at it! A few barnacles, oysters and even a bit of seaweed in our relationship…but shipmates we will be…until the boat sinks!!” a third joked.
