The game-changing cling-wrap hack going viral: 'Best ever!'

Cling wrap is a kitchen necessity, even for those of us who have shifted to reusable food coverings (sometimes you still need plastic).

However, the struggle to pull it out smoothly, without the roll falling onto the bench and the film sticking to itself, is infuriating.

TikTok creator Alice James has uncovered a clever little hack to make your life easier – little tabs in the side of the packaging that hold the roll in place – mind blown!

"BEST HACK EVER! How have we never known this?!" Alice wrote on her TikTok video.

"I'm so excited to show you this, I think it might change your life," Alice said.

"My friend Jess taught me this and I just can't believe it!

"You know when you're using Glad Wrap ... it kind of falls out of the container ... and gets all tangled?

"There are these little hole-tab things at the end and you push them in and it holds the roll secure.

"So then when you use it, it doesn't fall out anywhere!

"Game changer baby!" she said with a clap and a little dance!

TikTok users loved both Alice's hack and her enthusiastic reaction, with 32,000 views and 200 comments.

"I was today years old when I learnt this, omg," one said.

"Game changer! I have put up with this for over 40 years and, yes! You have changed my life. Thank you!" another added.

"Whaaaaaat?! I just checked my Glad-Wrap and it's true! Why did no one tell me this?" Peter Murphy wrote.

"I just showed my wife this, now she thinks I’m a genius 😜 Thanks," one gentleman stated.

"Omg! Can’t believe I didn’t notice this before," another said.

Alice replied: "You’re welcome 😂 I’m stoked!!"

It wasn't just the video that entertained, the banter in the comments was pretty good too.

"I learnt this like 20 years ago when I was making my own sandwiches for school. Alfoil has the same thing," one follower wrote.

"Why didn’t you tell us all?! 😂 Gate keeping the glad wrap hack I see," Alice replied jokingly.

"Welcome to adulthood, you have now passed the final test," Dodgey added.

Others loved Alice's enthusiasm.

"You need to find more kitchen titbits to offer us, so we can chuckle at the reaction/celebration" a fan wrote.

Another asked: "How do you always have a high energy level?"

"Haha not sure - coffee and a love of life," Alice replied.

But some said the find was not a hack at all.

"It’s not a hack if you use something how it has been designed to be used," one said.

However, they had a tip of their own: "Here’s a hack, If you hold the box vertical the glad wrap will rip easier."
