The Block's Maddy and Charlotte call out Kristian's 'rude' act: 'Disaster'
EXCLUSIVE: The sisters reveal what really happened when their co-star ‘stole’ their plasterers.
The Block’s newest contestants Maddy and Charlotte certainly haven’t received the warmest welcome from their co-stars since they joined the show this week to replace Paige and Jesse. Not only has Kylie admitted on camera that she won’t be nice to the sisters, but Kristian has also taken it upon himself to ‘steal’ their plasterers.
Kristian, who previously shared plasterers with House 1 before Maddy and Charlotte arrived, ensured that the tradies were prioritising his house over the girls’ and because of this, they were left with bare walls and no one to help them. They then attempted to borrow one of Courtney and Grant’s six plasterers to help them finish this week’s room, but their co-stars weren’t keen on sharing.
Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle about their lack of plasterers and the frosty reception from their co-stars, which many fans on social media described as “rude”, Maddy and Charlotte admit that their first week on The Block was a “disaster”.
“That first week was so overwhelming for us,” Charlotte recalls. “There were plasterers already in our room when we got there, and from what our builder was saying, he was the one who originally reached out to them and got them on The Block. And then I think Kristian used them after, although I'm not 100 per cent sure about that.
“I was just confused about what was happening because Kristian was like, ‘Oh no, they're now coming to us and not you’. And then our builders were like, ‘No, we got them first, we should have them’.”

Maddy adds that they had no idea who to speak to about the issue because they had only arrived at the construction site one day earlier.
“Obviously, we were the new kids on The Block, we weren’t about to march into someone’s house and be like, ‘No, give me back my plasterers!’, because we didn’t even know if they were our plasterers,” she remarks.
“It was very overwhelming and confusing and I think we just were like, we just need to get this done. And we want both teams to have theirs done. We want Kristian and Mimi to get theirs done, but we also want ours as well.”
Maddy and Charlotte call out 'disappointing' move
Maddy and Charlotte went on to admit that it was “disappointing” their new co-stars weren’t very welcoming when they arrived on The Block.
“Kylie was not a fan from the get-go. We don't really know why she had that reaction,” Maddy shares. “I mean, that was disappointing and that was a bit sad, and obviously it's hard for us coming into an environment where it’s like, we're not intruders. We’ve been asked to come here and we've dropped everything from our lives to be here and pick up the pieces, so that was hard.
“But there were some people who were friendly and showed us around, and that was nice.”

The sisters also reveal that much of their time on The Block was “quite a lonely experience” because they entered the competition in week five.
“Our experience was different to others and it was at times harder, and for a long time, we really only had each other,” Maddy continues. “It was quite a lonely experience. We really relied on each other and we could really only trust each other.”
