Scott Cam announces new addition to his family ahead of The Block

He’s already a dad-of-three and now Scott Cam has revealed he’s added a new addition to his family, in the form of an adorable puppy dog.

The 56-year-old is currently gearing up for the start of The Block 2019, which is set to air on August 4th, but he recently made some time to welcome Frankie, a black and tan KelpieX into the Cam family.

“New addition to the Cam Family, thanks to Steve and the team at the Yagoona RSPCA Animal Shelter,” Cam wrote in an Instagram caption.

“A beautiful Black and Tan KelpieX rescue puppy. If you want a dog that is the place to go.”

In another photo, showing Cam cooking some sausages on the BBQ, the much-loved host revealed the family have decided to call the dog Frankie.

Frankie’s arrival into the family comes just 10 weeks after their beloved dog, 15-year-old Rosie, passed away.

“Poor old Rosie, passed away last night, she’s upstairs hanging out with Lizzie, RIP, what a great dog,” Scott wrote on Instagram, alongside three photos of the animal.

Scott, who has been married to his wife, Ann, for the past 26 years, is already a proud dad to 20-year-old twins, Sarah and Bill and 24-year-old Charlie.

In 2017 the proud dad posted a sweet tribute to his twins on their 18th birthday, saying: “Happy 18th Birthday to my beautiful twins Billy and Sarah. What a party we had, 100 18 year olds...epic!!!”

Speaking to TV Week in the past, Scott said they’re a ‘very tight-knit family.

"We always do family stuff together. We get up every Sunday and all go for a swim and have breakfast together."

It seems Scott might have needed his family’s help to distract him from the stress of The Block this year, as he revealed to TV Week that the new series ‘broke people early on’.

"We thought it'd be alright, but then we started to think it was too big and that we'd gone too far," Scott said about The Oslo project.

"But I kept saying to the contestants that I only needed one team to finish and that would mean [the renovation] was possible.

"There are a lot of people talked off the ledge on this series,"
