The Block 2023: Insiders reveal feuds and drama as we meet the five teams
Meet the five teams competing on the 2023 season of The Block.
Be prepared for more drama than ever before as the new season of The Block approaches, with one source describing the season as "Melrose Place on steroids", with the drama escalating tenfold.
The new season is said to be a real change of pace from previous ones, with many of the teams reportedly coming to loggerheads this year. Despite this, the 2023 season is said to be fun for the whole family, and the finished houses are extraordinary.
Our insider suggests the drama will be relatable but may surprise viewers, given it's like nothing we've seen before.

Due to the high-pressure stakes of the show, it makes sense drama will erupt between the teams, with fans likely to switch allegiance between the teams throughout the season as the drama unfolds.
Take a look at the teams fighting for first place:
House One: Kyle Cottone and Leslie Cottone (Green Team from WA)
Stay-at-home mum Leslie already has thousands of TikTok followers, meaning she's not afraid to voice her opinion. It's believed Kyle and Leslie make some unusual attempts with their ideas, which may be a tad ambitious, but hey, no one will accuse them of playing it safe.
House Two: Leah Milton and Ash Milton (Yellow Team from QLD)
Leah and Ash, parents-of-three and co-founders of The Milton Project, have some major experience in home renovations and have studied previous seasons of the show. They have quite unique taste at times and are not afraid of dropping in a feature piece to contrast their space.
House Three: Kristy Beams and Brett Beams (Red Team from SA)
Kristy and Brett are down-to-earth Adeladians, however, insiders say they may clash with the other teams and and will do all they can to get the job done.
Some of the ways in which they use their space may really surprise viewers, with their old-school techniques set to divide both fans and the judges.
House Four: Gianpietro Ottavio and Steph Ottavio (Blue Team from NSW)
This married couple is not on The Block to mess around. They want to bring a unique style to Australia with some interesting offshore ideas. Their Japanese influence has really set their style apart from the other houses and they feel confident this season is theirs to win.
According to our insiders, Steph doesn't want other people to get in her way, it is a competition after all.
Gian is really supportive of his architect wife and has her back, but he doesn't want to get involved with conflict.
House Five: Eliza Paschke and Liberty Paschke (Purple Team from VIC)
Sisters Eliza and Liberty are no strangers to the entertainment industry, working in TV and radio, respectively. Eliza has been Hamish Blake and Andy Lee's assistant for 10 years and has also had a successful podcast with former MAFS contestant Carly Bowyer.
Sources suggest the siblings understand good PR and they feel like they have a secret power up their sleeve. Eliza and Liberty are ambitious and competitive and do what they can to stay out of the drama, but we hear that, eventually, they get sucked in.
