Taylor Swift's Next Album and Tour Could Be Dropping Sooner Than You Think

The next few years may be very busy for Swifties.

Taylor Swift is often synonymous with the pop music industry at large, and it's no wonder as to why: the girl loves staying booked and busy, whether that means adding more legs to her Eras Tour, dropping new variants of albums, or re-recording old fan favorites. Despite nearly two years worth of touring, Swift is already looking ahead—which means new music and yet another tour might be on the way sooner than we think.

The Eras Tour will officially come to a close on December 8 in Vancouver. After the tour, the pop star plans to take some much needed rest ahead of the holidays and will likely spend Christmas with boyfriend Travis Kelce and his family. Us Weekly reports that Swift "wants to start the New Year on a low-key, restful note," but "then she’ll get to work on a new album and is talking about hitting the road again—albeit on a smaller scale than the Eras Tour—in 2026."

A source told the outlet that Swift “had such a great experience on Eras. She really wants to do it again. She loves being with all her fans; it inspires her.” Don't take this as a confirmation of a Swift album and tour in 2026, though. "Things can change. A lot of it hinges on what happens over the next year with Travis,” the source added. “She’s told her team to give her one year to see how things go in her personal life.”

Fans can never truly know what to expect from a Swift album, but Swifties probably shouldn't anticipate her signature sound deviating that much from what fans already know and love.

"Taylor and her team continually make consistently great pop music,” former Sony Music executive Seth Schachner told Us. “Taylor has the goods with hooks and great production and songwriting...I don’t see her changing the production of her sound radically. A Taylor Swift reggae or metal release are not likely scenarios. She’s a very prolific artist. She doesn’t need to reinvent herself.”

In the meantime, expect the pop star to be chilling out in the next couple of weeks. Her birthday is on December 13, with Us noting that she may go out in NYC for the occasion with members of her squad, which includes Gigi Hadid, Zoë Kravitz, Gracie Abrams, and Abigail Anderson, amongst others.
