Taylor Swift Matches Travis Kelce in ‘Coded’ Outfit at Chiefs Game

Some of Taylor Swift’s fans couldn’t help but notice that part of her outfit matched that of her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, upon her arrival for the 2025 AFC Championship game.

Kelce, 35, was first to make it to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., for his team’s game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Jan. 26. As seen in a video that his New Heights podcast shared on X, formerly Twitter, the NFL star wore a tan suit that had four stripes of silver on the left pant leg and a matching set of stripes on the left arm of his jacket. He completed the look with a pair of glasses and a gray beanie that had four white stripes on the front.

A little while later, Swift and her family arrived at the stadium, as seen in video footage shared on X by multiple fan accounts. The pop superstar wore red tights beneath a black skirt and a black jacket with gold detailing. She wore her signature red lipstick and completed the look with a black beanie.

Fans on social media who noticed that Swift and Kelce were both wearing beanies quickly began speculating about whether the 14-time Grammy Award winner’s outfit was inspired by her boyfriend.

“[Is] that Travis’ beanie? I feel like I’ve seen him wearing it before? And I feel like I’ve never seen her wearing one,” one fan tweeted.

“She and Travis coordinated nicely,” another fan wrote.

“THE JACKET IS SO TRAVIS CODED,” a third fan tweeted.

One fan also suspected that the football player’s fashion pick for the day was similarly inspired by the “Cruel Summer” songstress, dubbing it “Taylor influenced.”

Others who have been eagerly awaiting the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version), the anticipated re-recorded version of her 2017 album Reputation, thought that Swift’s look was meant to convey something else.

“A lot of black lately is this rep coded or what?” one person tweeted as another agreed the look was “so rep coded.”

“REP TV INCOMING,” a third fan predicted.

While many fans said they were “Absolutely obsessed” with Swift’s outfit for the day and that Kelce was “Always dressing to perfection,” not everyone was sold on their looks.

“Very very very disappointed! Could be her final fit of the nfl season! This is straight up dulllllllll,” one Swiftie said of the “Fortnight” singer’s ensemble.

“I normally love his fashion choices. But this ‘fit is not fitting for me today,” another fan said of Kelce’s look.
